Dear MAPS Families,

As communicated yesterday, we were waiting on approval for a potential education plan for the beginning of the 2022-23 school year. This adjustment was needed given the circumstances with the rain damage at the MS/HS building in early August.. We are happy to report that the Michigan Department of Education (MOE) has approved our plan for the beginning of the school year. With this being the case, all students will begin instruction on the normally scheduled day of August 29, 2022. There are, however, some details that we would like to share:
Grades K-2 - Starting in person at Central Elementary School
Grades 3-6 - Starting in person at Blesch Intermediate School
Grades 7-8 - Will start in person at Blesch Intermediate School and transition back to the MS/HS building on Monday, September 19, 2022

Grades 9-12 - Will begin the school year on Distance Learning and transition back to inperson learning on Monday, September 19, 2022

We are currently working on the final details of the overall plan to communicate fully with our families. We will follow up with additional details on open houses (still scheduled for Wednesday, August 24 at the same time) at Central and Blesch with no open house at the MS/HS. Additionally, we will communicate information about grades 9-12 device pick-up, the process that will be followed to ensure learning is at a high level, and resources and supports that will be available to students and families. We will continue to update you by sending messages through social media, Dojo messaging, and the website. Please continue to check back for further updates. We are working diligently to get information out to you as timely as possible to ensure a wonderful start to the school year.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
